Submissions

The PATT40 Liverpool Review Panel look forward to receiving your submissions for next the 2023 conference. Abstract submissions have now closed and feedback is being sent to authors in the week beginning 19th April 2023. The submission date for full drafters is Friday 9th June 2023 to present one or more of the following: (a) research paper, or (b) academic poster and/or (c) conference workshop . Research Papers

The deadline for the submission of PATT40 full drafts of research papers is Friday 9th June 2023. Full papers should be a maximum of 3000-words, excluding the title, authors, abstract, keywords and references (note: full papers should not exceed 4,000-words, including everything). Please include your PATT40 paper number (see abstract feedback) when submitting your draft. Download and use the PATT40 Paper template (below) and click on the button below to submit your abstract via the PATT40 Conference Proceedings. Please note that the printed proceedings will be in A5 format and the font sizes must not be altered – the appropriate settings for heading, body text, etc. are included in the Styles embedded in the template.

Please refer to the conference theme and align with one of the four strands when developing your abstract and paper.

Academic Posters

The PATT40 Conference Committee are also inviting submissions for academic poster abstracts for delegates to share early research findings, educational projects, etc. The deadline for the submission of PATT40 Posters is Friday 9th June 2023. Posters should be a maximum of 1000-words in length, including abstracts and references. Posters must be designed for printing on A1 in landscape or portrait, saved in ‘.pdf’ format, and submitted via the PATT40 proceedings webpage. Posters must be anonymised and include your PATT40 paper number (see abstract feedback).

Please refer to the conference theme and align with one of the four strands when developing your poster. Note: there is no template for poster submissions, but we recommend authors design their posters to be read clearly from a moderate distance, and guide the reader from section to section.

Conference Workshops

PATT40 will also include workshops on Strand 1 (diverse and inclusivity ways of knowing and experiencing in design and technology education). The Conference Committee invite expressions of interest in delivering a workshop on this theme by emailing PATT40Liverpool@ljmu.ac.uk, outlining the equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) focus and how the workshop specifically contributes to design and technology education – including relevant research and scholarship underpinning the activities. The submission date for workshop proposals proposals has passed, but feel free to contact us if you have any ideas or queries.

The PATT40 Liverpool conference dates are Tuesday 31st October to Friday 3rd November 2023.

Submissions for abstracts and full papers/posters will be via dedicated journal on LJMU’s OJS system, and each paper will be assigned an individual DOI.
